Period decorated (appears to have been done by knife point) on the receiver with a five point star, an arrow, a wolf (or dog), and a large flying bird. The wood has never been sanded and shows honest pommel wear. Assembly number # 301 on frame, stock and butt plate.

Chell Baker was born in Austin, Texas in 1892. On July 1, 1923 Chell Baker enlisted in Company D Ranger Force, Station Laredo of the State of Texas. At the time, Chell Baker was 31 years old and by occupation a stockman. Chell Baker served until he resigned November 23, 1923.

Overall length 52", barrel length 35 5/8", part round barrel, pewter forend cap, under rib with ferrule for securing ramrod, no serial number, "DUNDALK" engraved on top barrel flat, minor engraving but no name on the lock. Dundalk is the name of a coastal city in Ireland.
